Vindol is located within Kozjansko park, which has a status of regional park. This means that the characteristic of the park is a balanced interweaving of preserved nature areas with the areas impacted by human activity. Sometimes, Kozjansko park is also named a »landscape with many faces«, which is beautifully visible from Vindol.

 The altitude of Vindol, where »EkoAlt Vindol« organisation is located, provides amazing view of more than a half of the protected area. The eye can reach as far as the slopes of Orlica and Kunšperska gora pre-Alpine hills, forming a frame and encouraging us to explore what is to be found behind them. The viewpoint offers a view of a nature protection area that is important in European terms – majority of the park area that we can see from Vindol has Natura 2000 status.
